To mark the inaugural year of Jenny Schafer becoming the UQMS Patron, the UQMS management committee is proud to present the Patron’s World Cup!
On September 29th, join us at the UQSport complex to join in a wholesome day of sport, picnic and some friendly country rivalry as we have teams battle it out to show us what they got! In a proper round robin style of soccer, netball, track and field and volleyball, teams will compete for the coveted Patron’s World Cup! Friendly rivalry encouraged; good vibes guaranteed!!
Sport isn’t for you? Lawn games to take place alongside the games! Come along for a chill and wholesome day to unwind and see friendly competition flair! A perfect complement to a free BBQ alongside the main attraction!
For those of you unfamiliar with Jenny, she is a UQ alumni and has led a diverse career in general practice, medical journalism, clinical teaching, and research for over 35 years. From 2005 to 2017, Jenny joined the UQ School of Medicine and fulfilled multiple roles, including Director of the Medicine Program. Jenny left the Faculty in 2017 and currently balances her time as the Senior Research Manager at Wesley Medical Research, and her practice in Kelvin Grove. As a true advocate of all medical students of all backgrounds and nationalities, it only seems right that we introduce the Patron’s World Cup!
Rego opens next Monday at 8 pm (QPAY link to be provided). Did we mention, ITS FREE! Rego as a team (10 people) or as an individual and great sport will be had!
