Do any of the following habits apply to you?

  • Avoiding conflict even when necessary
  • Bottling up feelings until you become resentful
  • Making excuses for other people’s inappropriate behaviour
  • Not knowing how to deal with unpleasant people

Assertiveness is a difficult skill to master. Yet, it’s essential in the high-pressure environment of a hospital. If you’ve ever thought of improving your assertiveness, consider our upcoming workshop: Mine, Yours Ours – Meeting Everyone’s Needs Through Assertive Communication.

The workshop will be run by Dr Bronwyn Robson, a UQ counsellor who has worked extensively with medical students. It will have a blend of theory and practical applications in groups.
