Speakers:
Prof. Andrew Barbour, surgical oncologist will be present for a 45-minute Q&A session with us. He has an extensive research background that includes melanoma research, and an area of interest in plastics.
Our fellow colleague, Cody Frear, is an MD/PhD student and will be presenting a short talk on his research and experiences with conducting a clinical trial in paediatric burns. He is a successful research student (winning prestigious research awards like 2019 UQ3MT Final, 2020 Australian National FameLab Final), so this is a great opportunity to see some of the high-quality research you can get involved in at UQ during your med degree.
Afterward, we will conclude with discussion of a pertinent research article by MD2 student Caitlin Sweeting. Caitlin has been attending Incision’s journal clubs since last year and has revealed a wonderful ability to facilitate discussion on research, so this will be an excellent journal club to tune in for 🙂
