ASUS is actually Taiwanese. I only know this because the tour guide on my stop in Taipei announced it with great pride.

Were you given pda's to use for the year by the med school. Was about to purchase one but heard this rumour. Any truth....

not true. this used to be the case but stopped in the last year. everyone on their rural rotation now receives a PDA instead. Kaye (the most awesome librarian ever) does usually have some left over though, and gives them to the med rotation kids. personally, that was pretty much the only rotation where i wanted one.

I'd highly recommend the HTC TyTN II.
It's a smartphone with top-of-the-line camera, small QWERTY keyboard and/or stylus touchpad, GPS, running Windows CE. I download all of my medical notes on there in Word and PDF for quick reference. Of course, you could put Smartscape stuff on there too. One box does all and does it well!
Three sells them as part of their contracts.
Trap for young players, though: don't let a 4WD run over your smartphone when it's only 3 weeks old.
That's gotta' hoit!

my bad, yeah they're Taiwanese as are HTC as far as i know..
iPhone is rubbish - its not a PDA, its a MP3 player that has phone capabilities
The only companies that make their own PDAs are HTC, ASUS, and HP. The rest have a smaller company make them and they re-badge them.
HTC used to make all O2 phones, but then they began selling on their own. Then O2 went through a few different companies. Their last iteration was made by ASUS.
As for hte skyscape crack. It is something that i found online 2 years ago from an arabic website and its gone through the med school pretty damn quickly! Its actually an executible file its not just a simple serial code. you will have to see someone who has it and get them to transfer it to you.

Anyone know of a good (cheap) place to buy PDA phones (either in-store or online)? I have found it quite difficult to find a store that stock a good selection of PDA phones?

www.ow.com.au
www.calculatorking.com.au
those are some of the better places because they are not only cheap, but alos have shop-fronts. most of the other cheapers palces have no shop front and for all you know could be operating out of someone's house!
